SMNL-VHNSNC Under Graduate Research Programme (URP)
Welcome to SMNL-URP
The Sustainable Materials and Nanotechnology Lab (SMNL) undergraduate research program (URP) is dedicated to strengthen the academic experience of undergraduate students at VHNSN College (Autonomous) by providing opportunity to first and second year undergraduates to perform the short-term or long-term research work with the researchers (faculty and scholars) at SMNL. The ultimate aim is to create a fundamental transformation from the students into scholar by train them in choosing research problems, performing constant research activities, attending seminars and delivering scientific presentations.
SMNL-URP Mission Statement
• This programme will integrate the first and second year undergraduates with faculty and scholars to strengthen our institutional mission of research and creative endeavour.
• This will create a diverse scholarly community with in the campus and enable the leadership development and global competency.
Benefits of SMNL-URP
• The opportunity to work closely with a faculty and the scholars in an area of interest, to gain "hands-on"
experience in materials science.
• This programme will create the platform for the one-on-one relationships with faculty, scholars and URP
researchers of other discipline.
• SMNL- URP fellow can develop new skills and earn academic credit for research.
• Early stage research will enable them to chose their right research career towards M.S. or Ph.D. in India and abroad.
Eligibility
• Only first and second year undergraduate (UG) students can participate in this programme at any time after their completion of 1st semester.
• The candidate must have minimum 70% marks, with out any arrear while applying this programme.
Terms and Conditions
• This SMNL-URP is not a mandate one and it will not reflect in the curriculum.
• SMNL will not pay any scholarship / fellowship for this programme.
• The research expenditure (fully or partially) will be taken care by the candidate.
• The candidate can able to spend after hours, week ends and holydays in the research lab in addition to their regular course work.
• Students who are enrolled to this URP can not claim OD for performing this research work.
